The Spanish multinational GAM (General de Maquinaria de Alquiler, BME: GALQ), has just successfully closed a new online auction through its platform (https://online.gamrentals.com).

Since GAM launched online auctions last year, the evolution has been very positive. In just ten months, the volume of equipment for sale increased by 60%. In the auction held last month, there were 10 million euros worth of assets for sale with more than 300 pieces of equipment and 37 classic cars.

The machinery that GAM offered for sale included all kinds of platforms, generators, mini excavators, mini loaders, excavators, loaders, industrial and all-terrain forklifts, handling equipment, lorries and classic cars such as Jaguars and Porsches.

The GAM auction is characterised by its simplicity and accessibility for companies and for individuals interested in selling their equipment, as well as for customers when viewing the offers and placing their bids.

The interest generated by the last of the auctions held by GAM is shown in the figures, with a 60% increase in the value of equipment for sale from third parties and 55% in the number of registered users.

On the other hand, more than 20% of total sales were made in countries outside of Spain, especially in European countries including Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Serbia and Romania. There were also sales to other countries in the world in the Latin American area such as Colombia and Peru, on the African continent including Morocco and Egypt and in Asian countries including Vietnam and Iraq.

The GAM auction was created at the beginning of 2017 with the aim of offering customers a value-added service and a faster and more flexible alternative purchase method.

In order to achieve this objective, the Company developed its online.gamrentals.com platform, in, line with its digitalisation strategy, in which omnichannel plays a key role, enabling constant interaction with the customer and homogeneity in the service.
